Monkton Street is a thoughtfully designed residential development in the heart of Lambeth, London, transforming a former factory and warehouse site into a sensitive yet contemporary addition to its historic surroundings. Situated within a conservation area and surrounded by Grade II-listed Georgian terraces, the project required a meticulous architectural approach to balance modern living requirements with the heritage context of the site.

PFG Design was tasked with securing planning approval and subsequent construction drawings for a high-quality residential scheme that would maximize the site's potential while respecting the existing urban grain. A carefully considered design response was developed, incorporating a basement level to provide additional living space and nine private terrace spaces, enhancing both the functionality and desirability of the homes.

Particular attention was paid to the scale, proportions, and materiality of the elevations to ensure that the new development seamlessly integrates with the surrounding Georgian streetscape. The façades echo the rhythm and elegance of the neighboring terraces while offering a contemporary interpretation that aligns with modern construction standards and energy efficiency principles.

Each residence within Monkton Street features a striking double-height living space, a spacious and well-appointed kitchen, and three generous double bedrooms, providing a rare combination of volume and light in a prime central London location. The result is a refined and contextually sensitive development that enriches its historic setting while delivering exceptional modern homes.
