The Farthings
/

The Farthings is an elegant and contemporary interpretation of 1930s architecture, designed as a substantial family residence in the prestigious setting of Gerrards Cross. Positioned on a private road within one of the area’s most sought-after locations, the site naturally lent itself to the creation of a generously proportioned home that balances grandeur with refined detailing.

One of the key design challenges was the site’s steep gradient, which informed the development of a split-level configuration, seamlessly integrating the home into its natural topography. This approach not only enhances the architectural composition but also allows for a dynamic and flowing internal arrangement, maximizing both space and natural light.

The client’s vision was for a home that referenced the elegance and symmetry of 1930s architecture while embracing contemporary design principles. PFG Design carefully studied the proportions, detailing, and materiality to ensure a sophisticated and timeless aesthetic. The exterior features a considered palette of high-quality materials, harmonizing traditional and modern elements to create a home that feels both classic and current.

Spanning 7,000 sq ft, The Farthings is designed to offer a luxurious living experience, with every detail meticulously crafted to meet the expectations of a residence of this caliber. Expansive, light-filled living spaces, a grand yet welcoming entrance, and a seamless connection between interior and exterior living areas ensure a sense of both opulence and comfort. The result is a distinguished home that embodies architectural integrity while delivering the highest standards of modern living.
